Abstracts

Abstracts for the 12th International Symposium on NeuroVirology are no longer being accepted.

Oral presentations

While most abstracts will be presented in poster form during the poster sessions, a number of abstracts have been selected to be delivered as oral presentations during the Symposium. In fact, the majority of speakers at the ISNV Symposium have been selected from submitted abstracts. Each session will feature one plenary speaker and several oral presentations selected from the abstracts by the Scientific Committee.  Oral presentations for speakers selected from abstracts will be approximately ten minutes (plus five minutes for discussion). Please note that all abstracts selected for oral presentation must also be presented in the poster session.

Poster presentations

All posters for the ISNV Symposium will be presented at the Poster Session to be held during the meeting.

Acceptance and acknowledgement

The final decision regarding abstract acceptance and selection for oral presentation rests with the Scientific Committee.

Travel grants offered by the ISNV

The meeting organizers will offer a limited number of travel awards for junior investigators to attend and present their abstracts in special sessions.  Travel grants will cover the cost of lodging and will help to defray the cost of airfare.  Per diem expenses are not included.  Trainees will be reimbursed after submission of expenses following the meeting.  Students and postdoctoral fellows who are members of the ISNV and are presenting authors on submitted abstracts are eligible to apply for a travel grant.  Trainees who become members of the ISNV at the time of meeting registration and abstract submission will be considered eligible.  Junior investigators will be asked to indicate their interest in being considered for a travel grant at the time of abstract submission.

Trainees must verify their eligibility by providing a letter from their advisor or department chair confirming their status as a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow. Travel grant requests must be made at the time of abstract submission and therefore must be received by the abstract submission deadline. Please address the letter to the attention of the "Investigators-in-Training Selection Committee". Your letter can be sent as an e-mail attachment to Sandy Weiss (mail@isnv.org) in the ISNV Administrative Office or faxed to 215-707-9838. Electronic signatures and scanned copies will be accepted. Trainees who are not current ISNV members and have not confirmed their status by providing a letter from their advisor or Chair will not be eligible to receive a travel grant.

Late Breaker Abstracts

Late breaker abstracts will not be solicited or accepted for this meeting.

Publication

A supplemental issue of the Journal of NeuroVirology, which will include abstracts accepted for poster and oral presentations, will be published and distributed at the meeting.
