Abstracts will be accepted for consideration until Monday, July 9th . Abstract submissions are being accepted online at the Journal of NeuroVirology web site.

Oral presentations

While most abstracts will be presented in poster form during the poster sessions, a number of abstracts will be selected to be delivered as oral presentations during the Symposium. The majority of speakers at the ISNV Symposium will be selected from submitted abstracts.  Each session will feature one plenary speaker and three to five oral presentations to be selected from the abstracts by the Scientific Committee.  Oral presentations will be fifteen minutes each plus discussion, time permitting.  If you wish to be considered for an oral presentation, please indicate so at the time of abstract submission.  Please note that all abstracts selected for oral presentation must also be presented in the poster session.

Poster presentations

All posters for the ISNV Symposium will be presented at both Poster Sessions to be held during the evenings of Tuesday, October 30th, and Wednesday, October 31st. Posters should be no more than 48 inches wide and no more than 42 inches in height.

Acceptance and acknowledgement

The final decision regarding abstract acceptance and selection for oral presentation rests with the Scientific Committee. Each abstract submission will be acknowledged by e-mail. Presenting authors of submitted abstracts accepted by the Committee will be notified no later than August 10th of the disposition of their abstract(s).

Publication

A supplemental issue of the Journal of NeuroVirology, which will include abstracts accepted for poster and oral presentations, will be published and distributed at the meeting.

Travel grants

The meeting organizers will offer a limited number of travel awards for junior investigators to attend and present their abstracts in special sessions.  Travel grants will cover the cost of lodging and will help to defray the cost of airfare.  Per diem expenses are not included.  Trainees will be reimbursed after submission of expenses following the meeting.  Students and postdoctoral fellows who are members of the ISNV and are presenting authors on submitted abstracts are eligible to apply for a travel grant.  Trainees who become members of the ISNV at the time of meeting registration and abstract submission will be considered eligible.  Junior investigators will be asked to indicate their interest in being considered for an Investigator-in-Training travel grant at the time of abstract submission.  Trainees must verify their eligibility by providing a letter from their advisor or department chair confirming their status as a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow.  Travel grant requests must be made at the time of abstract submission and therefore must be received by the abstract submission deadline.  Trainees that have not confirmed their status by providing a letter from their advisor or Chair will not be eligible to receive a travel grant.
